The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you how to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You will learn to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational total diving system or Sidemount or Twin tanks configuration and a single nitrox decompression cylinder. You will learn and practice how to effectively use your dive computer features, including switching gases, gas integration, time-to-reserve, and time-to-surface. Using these computer functions will become second nature, enabling you to safely conduct dives with limited decompression without hours of dive planning. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Decompression Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore stunning deep dive sites or larger wrecks without being restricted by the traditional no-decompression limits. What differentiates us from other Dive Centres

At Nico Dives Cools we want you to have the best learning experience possible. This is why we keep our student ratios to dive instructors extremely low. Compared to other large dive centers you get a highly personalized course and diving practice experience. Very often our experienced diving instructor will only teach one student at a time. In general, we prefer to have no more than two students per instructor so we can ensure a quality education. Also, this is the key reason why Nico Dives Cool has such an amazing 5-star reputation amongst its customers. Having said that we can be flexible (add more instructors) if you want to do your course with several people. Simply let us know your preferences and we will make sure that you have a fantastic learning experience.

What is included in the Decompression Diving Course?

On the day of your diving course, we will pick you up from your hotel and later drop you back too. During the course, we will review the theoretical part and then focus on the practical. We will learn how to assemble the equipment, how to set up and analyze the gas in the decompression tank, how to plan the dive, how to calculate the air consumption, how to share air, how to get a good TRIM position, how to take off and put back the decompression tank underwater, learn different finning techniques, how to manage your gas, how to switch gas and do a decompression stop and much more…

We will complete all required skills exercises over 4 dives in the sea. We will take you to either Tulamben, Amed or Padang Bai to complete your training dives. We are doing all the confined water skills directly in the sea at this level it is better to learn directly in a realistic environment.

All Inclusive:

Learning Materials (SSI e-learning)
Decompression Diving Course Certification
Transport in air-conditioned bus to and from training site(s)
Experienced Decompression Instructor speaking English, French, or Indonesian
The course is done over 3 days. You will have confined water session + 4 Open Water dives using a recreational diving configuration or using Sidemount configuration (if already sidemount certified) diver. The training dives will be done in Padang Bai, Tulamben, or Amed.
Porter available to carry the equipment/tank to and from the dive site
Toilet, shower, and changing rooms
