The underwater world starts only 300m off the shore from Sanur. Each of these three dive sites offers a different bottom composition. The sandy composition of the ground creates sometimes average conditions and thus, the underwater visibility can sometimes be a bit reduced. Currents depend on the tidal movements and can on occasion be strong here. Sanur Diving is generally great for beginners, though honestly, we prefer to go a little further and bring you to a top dive site, such as Tulamben or Padang Bai.
However, the mix of a nice reef and good marine life makes diving in Sanur a particularly interesting experience for novice divers, rescue diver courses, and specialty diving courses. The Sanur dive sites are also an alternative for experienced divers who seek nice diving in the south of Bali.
We include all necessities and more into our price. Dive locations, trip duration, and extras can be fully customized to your preferences and diving skills. Please contact us regarding diving Sanur and we will tailor a perfect trip for you.
From our shop in Sanur, we take one of our buses and reach Beach in a few minutes. We take a short ride with a Jukung (local boat) for a max 10min to 3 different dive sites located here. The names of the sites are Penjor Reef, Jeladi Wilis, and Channel Point.
Diving Sanur’s dive sites offer an abundance of marine life and a nice reef filled with corals and sponges along a coral reef. Here, hundreds of fish and critters live, and we can observe many types of fish, shrimp, crabs, Sea Snakes, Schools of Batfish, Octopus, Cuttlefish, marble rays, and turtles. Occasionally we can spot reef sharks, such as the white tip and black tip.
The trip to Penjor Reef takes only a few minutes from the Sanur shore by Jukung (local fisherman boat). There you find an abundance of mature and diverse coral and marine life. Here the volume of macro life is amazing. This is a great spot to do an Underwater Photography Specialty Course or a Discover Scuba Diving Course. Some of our previous divers will credit this site as being as good as some of the more famous sites in Bali for Muck Diving.
This reef holds some surprises. Here, you regularly find blue-spotted stingrays, batfish, lionfish, nudibranchs, marble rays, and moray eels. The coral reef slopes gently down to about 20m depth and ends in a sandy bottom.
This dive site is one of the most commonly dived locations because it is an ideal place for dive training. It is great for completing a scuba diving course and continuing your education with specialty courses. Channel Point dive site is situated in the Sanur channel and has a large coral reef. The slope has a sandy bottom topography. This is a good dive location for novice divers, refresher courses, and the Rescue Diver Course. It is also a good option for those who do not have much time or want to travel a long way.
The macro marine life and coral formations make Sanur’s dive sites very interesting. Sanur Channel may not offer Bali’s best diving, but if you want a quick and easy dive with interesting things to encounter, this is the place to visit. Here we see colorful reef life, such as nudibranchs, moray eels, blue spotted rays, sea snakes, and lionfish. The proximity to our dive center makes this an ideal training dive site.
This site is situated in front of the Grand Inna Beach Hotel. It’s a great site for scuba diving courses and divers who are looking for a dive site close by. You will explore a beautiful and colorful reef. Here you will encounter many healthy corals, huge bommies, pinnacles, and table corals. Within the reef we find diverse marine life. Here, you have a chance to spot cuttlefish, lionfish, octopus, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, marble grays, scorpion fish, blue-spotted stingray, and shiny pufferfish. Also, reef sharks are regularly reported here, too.
Like the other dive sites around Sanur, this dive site has a sandy bottom. This simple, gentle dive site starts at around 3 meters and slopes down to about 18 meters. The current here can on occasion be a little strong and be ready for a drift dive. It is recommended to dive there close to slack tide.
