The Advanced Open Water Diver Course is a popular diver certification in the world for more advanced divers. It allows you to dive deeper to a maximum of 30m. At Nico Dives Cool you can choose to become advanced open water diver certified either with SSI or PADI. Both diving federations are recognised throughout the World.
During the Advanced Open Water Diver Course you will learn the right skills and obtain the basic diving knowledge to become a certified advanced diver. Many of the best dive spots in the World require you to dive a little deeper to experience their magnificent marine life. This is a great course for you to be able to just do that.
At Nico Dives Cools we want you to have the best learning experience possible. This is why we keep our student ratios to dive instructors extremely low. Compared to other large dive centres you get a highly personalised course and diving practice experience. Very often our experience diving instructor will only teach one student at a time. In general we prefer to have no more than two students per instructor so we can assure a quality education. Also, this is the key reasons why Nico Dives Cool has such an amazing 5-Star reputation amongst its customers. Having said that we can be flexible if you want to do your course with several people. Simply let us know your preferences and we will make sure that you have a fantastic learning experience.
The other thing that make us stand out from the crowd is that we actually take you to some of the best diving spots to do your course. Rather than sitting three days in the same spot, like learning in Sanur, we will bring you around different dive locations. Typically we will bring you to Tulamben and Padang Bai four course diving. There you will dive the beautiful Blue Lagoon dive sites with amazing coral bommies. In Tulamben you will enjoy the colourful coral reefs, and the world famous USAT Liberty Shipwreck aka the Bali Wreck.
Just like in the Open Water course you will be required to learn some new diving theory. We recommend to do the e-learning course prior to arriving in Bali. This way we can focus more on the diving skills and practice more, once you are here. But it’s by no means a requirement and you are free to choose to do the theory in Bali. On the first day we will pick you up from your hotel and later drop you off too. On the drive we review your diving knowledge, to make sure you have a good grasp of the diving learning material.
Now, let’s get to the water part. There are small differences in course requirements between PADI and SSI. If you choose PADI you must complete the underwater navigation and deep dive, plus choose three adventure dives. This might include Wreck Diving, Night Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift Diving, etc. With SSI you are free to choose which ever 5 adventure dives you like based on your preference. However both School require you to dive to 30m depth.
On day two we typically focus on adventure diving (entry level specialties without certification) which you can choose based on your preference. Underwater photography, Current and Drift Diving, and Night Diving are popular choices. We are also flexible to compress the course should you not have enough time. No problem, just let us know your limitations and we will adjust!
