Course Overview & Schedule

The SSI DPV Course is now available at Nico Dives Cool Bali for both recreational and technical divers.

Duration: 2 Days (Recreational) / 3 Days (Technical)

The SSI DVP Course Includes:

1 Confined Water Session: Learn the basics of handling the DPV.
2 Open Water Dives: Apply your skills in Bali’s ocean with the DPV.

For Technical Divers: We add one extra day dedicated to tech fun dives in Bali using the DPV, allowing you to integrate the unit into your technical configuration and practice more skills.

Where You Will Dive

During your diving training, you will gain practical skills while exploring some of Bali’s most stunning open water locations in Bali using a DPV. Potential Bali dive sites for this course include:

Padang Bai: offers easy and relaxing boat dives (traditional boat), featuring stunning coral gardens, colorful reef fish, great macro and opportunities to spot turtles and reef sharks.
Tulamben: renowned for its shore dives, particularly the USAT Liberty Wreck, one of the world’s most accessible wreck dives. The area also boasts vibrant coral reefs and a wide variety of marine life, making it an excellent spot for underwater photography and exploration.
Candidasa: known for its exciting drift dives and encounters with larger marine species. Sites like Gili Tepekong, Gili Mimpang, and Gili Biaha offer dramatic underwater landscapes, including caves, swim-throughs, and walls covered in corals. These sites are famous for strong currents, attracting pelagic species such as sharks, rays, and even the elusive Mola Mola (sunfish) during the right season. Candidasa is perfect for advanced divers looking for adventure and big marine life in Bali.
Nusa Penida: full-day trip by speedboat from Sanur, offering some of Bali’s most thrilling underwater encounters. Sites like Manta Point provide incredible close encounters with manta rays, the enigmatic Mola-Mola in Crystal Bay, while sites like Toyapakeh, SD, PED or Mangrove showcase vibrant coral reefs teeming with sea turtles and superb marine life.

Experience Summary

Prerequisites:

Open Water Diver Certified

All Inclusive:

Learning Materials (SSI e-learning)
DPV / Technical DPV Certification
Transport in air-conditioned bus to and from training site(s)
Experienced DPV Instructor speaking English, French, or Indonesian
The course is done over 2 or 3 days (3 days for tech divers). You will have a confined water session on the first day, followed by 2 Open Water dives using a DPV the 2nd day. For the technical divers, we add one more day with technical fun dives using DPV.
Equipment for recreational divers is provided for free if needed
DPV rental is included in the course
Porter available to carry the equipment/tank to and from the dive sites
Toilet, shower, and changing rooms
Oxygen Kit and First Aid available on-site
Drinks, snacks and lunch
Free WIFI at the dive shop
