My Stay in Bali : Diary of a Traveller in Bali

Bali is a well known travel destination due to fact that it is a tropical, warm and idyllic island. Everything is there to be one of the perfect place to go for your vacation, or your next internship. Amazing beaches, wonderful landscapes, beautiful coral reefs and marine life, fascinating animals like Macaques in the Monkey Forest, an awesome active volcano (the famous Mount Agung), incredible Hindu temples everywhere, authentic rice terraces classified by UNESCO as world heritage list, but also huge waterfalls are present to let you enjoy the beauty of this special island. The entire economy is based on tourism, tourists from all around the world are coming here to relax, meditate and appreciate the balinese way of living.

You can even make a lot of different activities like doing some canyoning, taste the regional food in typical Warungs, try the most expensive coffee in the world, go to the biggest asian waterpark, have some balinese massage with fish pedicure, dive to explore the second world war USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben or the great Manta rays in Nusa Penida, essay surf in different famous spots, climb the inactive Mont Batur volcano to watch the sunrise or look at the sunset on the ocean from the Uluwatu temple located on a fifty seven meter cliff. You will also have the possibility to observe a traditional dance, have fun by beginning rafting, drive a jet ski or a quad, walk into the mangrove, initiate a trail into the tropical safari parc, visit the zoo of Bali, observe exotic birds in the birds parc and of course, rent a cheap scooter to move to all these places by yourself.

It is really interesting to see how people from a developing country placed in the other side of the planet are living their life in a total different way and welcome you so kindly, with so much hospitality. The different social environment and meteorological conditions disoriented me at first but I was quickly acclimatized. Moreover, the fact that the volcano Agung erupted a few months before my arrival scared a lot of tourists, so now is the best period to enjoy Bali without mass tourism and high prices.
The benefit for me, who makes an internship in a poor country, is therefore the cost of living. I can eat and go to the barber shop for three euros, or also rent a bike for the same price per day for exemple!

[vc_column_text]It is a great opportunity for me to get out of the peaceful and comfortable European lifestyle. All these aspects allowed me to experience diverse types of adventures. It is a big change from what I am use to and are a complete way of escape, just because everything is completely different here !
I hope that this article give you the desire to go to this destination for your next vacation or internship.
